Freedom in Christ frees us from religious practices unrelated to salvation

Galatians 5:1 Christ having made us gloriously free—stand fast and do not again be hampered with the yoke of slavery.

The last Passover was where Jesus instituted the symbols of the wine and the bread to signify his death.

It is also where Judas left early to coordinate the capture of Jesus.

Some commentators believe that Judas’ motive was to push Jesus to defend himself and begin the revolution that would bring about this political kingdom. When Jesus did not resist, Judas felt remorse and committed suicide.
