Freedom in Christ frees us from religious practices unrelated to salvation

Galatians 5:1 Christ having made us gloriously free—stand fast and do not again be hampered with the yoke of slavery.

The Old Testament includes a number of books about the lives and messages of the prophets.

Most of the prophets gave their messages over relatively short time periods. Some prophesied for lengthy periods.

Most of these prophets had messages of warning to Israel and Judah about the eventual consequences of their abandoning the Old Covenant laws.

They also had messages of hope for an eventual restoration after a punishment. They could look forward to a prosperous future with God’s blessings.

Malachi, the last prophet, was the only prophet to prophesy after the return of Israel and Judah to their land.
