Our Freedom in Christ - Part 1Freedom in Christ frees us from religious practices unrelated to salvation
For freedom, Christ has set us free. Stand fast therefore and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Here the word freedom is the Greek word el-yoo-ther-ee’-ah which means “liberty to do or to omit things having no relationship to salvation” The Jews often refer to the their “yoke of commandments” that show God’s special interest in them. Here Paul is saying that we are free to do or not do anything that is unrelated to salvation. And he admonishes us not to become entangled with a yoke of slavery—-that is submit ourselves to rituals and holy days unrelated to our salvation. Back to the main page of Freedom in Christ |
